Important: Remove KilnShield® prior to closing the kiln lid. DO NOT FIRE THE KILN WITH THE SHIELD IN PLACE.
KilnShield® is made from 16-gauge galvanized steel and is placed on the top layer of bricks to disburse weight and protect soft brick from damage. The Standard Kiln Shield protects a 3-brick area. For your comfort, a soft silicone foam pad is rated up to 250℉ to lean on during loading and unloading. KilnShield® comes with holes for hanging, or can be magnetically attached to the control panel for easy access.
