Stoneware matte glazes range from solid shades to those that create interesting color variations as they move and break. Application thinkness is the key to making mattes work for you.
Cone 6: Satin Patina is a rich tonal matte green patina glaze. The variation of the glaze is dependent on application. The thicker the application the more opaque and homogenous the color will be, and thinner application will allow more of the to show through the glaze.
Cone 10: Finish flattens. Color lightens. Brown/orange undertones come through.
Designed to perform from cones 5-10, in oxidation or reduction firing processes on stoneware of choice. Artists will appreciate the consistency of performance and control of movement. Painters will find amazing glaze combinations to expand the creative possibilities in the studio.
